Trauma Therapy for Adults in WA.
You can move forward without pretending the past does not exist.
Trauma doesn't look the same for everyone. It can follow a single overwhelming experience, repeated painful experiences, or relationships and environments where you didn't feel safe, supported, or understood.
Sometimes its effects are obvious. Other times, they show up in everyday patterns that are easy to dismiss or misunderstand.
You might recognize yourself in some of these experiences:
Feeling constantly on guard: Anticipating problems, scanning for changes in someone's mood, or struggling to relax.
Difficulty trusting others: Wanting connection but feeling vulnerable, suspicious, or afraid of being hurt.
Emotional overwhelm or numbness: Feeling everything intensely at times and disconnected from your emotions at others.
People-pleasing and difficulty setting boundaries: Prioritizing other people's comfort because conflict, rejection, or disappointment feels difficult to tolerate.
Shutting down during conflict: Going quiet, freezing, withdrawing, or struggling to find words when emotions run high.
Harsh self-criticism: Blaming yourself for what happened or feeling that you should have handled things differently.
Relationship patterns that feel hard to change: Repeating familiar dynamics, fearing abandonment, or struggling to express your needs.
Feeling disconnected from yourself: Having trouble identifying what you want, what you feel, or what makes you feel safe.
A common way I help my clients heal from trauma is with EMDR Therapy. You can learn more about this approach here.
